The Manchester United goalkeeper Andreas Lindegaard has praised the morale within the team by saying that it is the best he has ever seen. The Danish goalkeeper joined the club back in 2010 and he has been regularly used to be the manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The poor form experienced by the Spaniard David de Gea has also been one of the contributing factors towards Lindegaard getting regular game time at Old Trafford. After failing to win the title last season, United have been at their imperious best this season. United have a seven-point cushion between them and the second placed Manchester city.
This makes them play favourites to win the title this season with just less than half the season remaining. Lindegaard has praised the morale within the team by saying that it has been hugely important factor in getting impressive results recently. He has also praised the way the team performed during Christmas period. After dropping two points in the match against Swansea, there was a real danger of United dropping two more in the match against Newcastle. However, they managed to win the match 4-3 in the end. Even though Manchester United have been extremely good at getting the results, they have failed to keep clean sheets in most of the matches.
“The team spirit is as high as I can remember since I came here. We have done tremendously well over the Christmas period and picked up some great results, only dropping points against Swansea – which was a game that we should have won in my opinion. We have done brilliantly and you can see that in the team spirit as well, people are happy and there’s a good, friendly and funny atmosphere in the locker room,” said Lindegaard, who has made eight appearances so far.
