OLSEN BACKS ERIKSEN

The manager of the Denmark national football team, Morten Olsen, has praised Tottenham’s new signing Christian Eriksen.

Eriksen has signed for the Spurs this summer after leaving the Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam. He has already put up some brilliant performances for his new club.

According to Olsen, the Tottenham management has done really well by signing the 21 years Old Danish midfielder.

Talking to the correspondent of a newspaper yesterday, Olsen said, “Christian is a fine player. He is blessed with special abilities.”

“He is very young at the moment, but, for his age, he has got quite a lot of experience. You see he has already made almost 40 appearances for Denmark. He has also been a part of Denmark’s World Cup squad.”

“He has played a lot of football at club level too. He has been a regular member of the Ajax team in the last 3 years. So, he has grown quickly as a player.”

“He gives his 100% all the time. In the Euro Cup, he was not in the best of forms, but, he ran a lot on the pitch, probably more than anyone else.”

“He is not someone who is physically the strongest, but, he is very effective.”

Olsen also hailed Nicklas Bendtner for being in decent shape despite not making regular appearances for his club Arsenal this season.

Bendtner has been called back for Denmark’s World Cup qualifiers against Italy and Malta.

The 25 years old striker is coming back after a ban period of 6 months.

When asked about Bendtner, Olsen said, “He has come here in decent shape and it shows that he doesn’t lack dedication. This is a big opportunity for him.”

Denmark has to face Italy on Friday and then, on next Tuesday, they will be up against Malta.
