LINDEGAARD WARNS MAN CITY
Manchester United goalkeeper Andreas Lindegaard has said that Manchester City should watch out for the Champions when they head into the final stages of the Premier League title race.
Manchester City have been dominant in the campaign so far, but they have only a slender two-point advantage over second placed Manchester United.
Even though they enjoy a massive seven-point advantage over other clubs, Manchester United have also been equally brilliant this season. It is one of the reasons for their goalkeeper Andreas Lindegaard to believe that Manchester City have all the reasons to fear them.
Andreas Lindegaard was involved in the 5-0 drubbing of Fulham in the Premier League, while Manchester United also watched Manchester City beat Stoke city 3-0. The powerful performance against Fulham was also the fifth clean sheet for goalkeeper Andreas Lindegaard, who has been growing in confidence in the last few months. He has been able to dislodge the £ 18 million signing from Atletico Madrid David De Gea. It seems that Sir Alex Ferguson is trusting the services of Andreas Lindegaard for more important matches. Even though David De Gea has proved that he is an inadequate shot stopper, Andreas Lindegaard has performed well when called upon.
"I think City are already under real pressure. Ever since the City match we have performed well. We were unlucky to go out of the Champions League and we can only blame ourselves for that, but apart from that we have performed very well – especially recently. We have played some really good games; we haven’t scored as many goals as we should have but we have played some good football," the Danish keeper told MUTV. So far, Andreas Lindegaard has made several important appearances for Manchester United this season and he also says that one can expect more from him in the future.
